As you look on our website and see our company values, you might find one that stands out from the rest: Pay it forward. But what does that actually mean? At ReluTech, we believe Paying It Forward means taking time out of your day to day, outside of work, and outside of your normal responsibilities to give back to our community. Many companies claim they give back, but end up not fulfilling that promise. ReluTech is not one of those companies. We try to give back as much as possible, and on saturday we did just that.
This past Saturday, our team members and their families woke up early to run the Race for Rest 5K presented by Monday Night Brewing in order to raise money for the Furniture Bank of Atlanta. The Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta’s mission is to give individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness and fleeing domestic violence gently-used furniture in order to create a safe and secure environment.
This Saturday over $40,000 was raised for Atlanta families transitioning out of homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, and countless others struggling to make ends meet. This means that they were able to donate 634 twin beds for children, provide 98 fully-furnished homes, or supply 347 forklift certification scholarships to previously homeless veterans. It is amazing to see an entire community come together to help such a great cause.
It was days like Saturday that make me so proud of our team. I am lucky to be a part of this ReluTech family that cares for a community that gives us so much, and encourages their employees to Pay It Forward. The Race for Rest 5K was a huge success for The Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta, and we are glad that we were able to join in on the fun.
