In pursuit of greater efficiency and sustainability, World Kinect recently embarked on a digital transformation journey, migrating a large footprint of data centers and critical applications to Amazon Web Services (AWS) completed over the last 5 years.
In September 2023, World Kinect was exploring sustainable options for the disposal of equipment across 2 data centers located in Miami, FL and Ashburn, VA.
World Kinect selected ReluTech to provide a comprehensive data evacuation solution. ReluTech's expertise in asset management and sustainable data center exit practices proved to be instrumental to the World Kinect team charged with evacuating the two locations. ReluTech was not only able to vacate the data centers promptly but also provided fair market value back to the World Kinect team in the form of cash for their assets.
World Kinect was able to show a detailed commitment to sustainability by repurposing and recycling the excess equipment being removed from the data centers. Through the efforts of ReluTech, this equipment found an extended life by becoming part of the ReluTech spare parts pool for its third-party maintenance offering, thus keeping the equipment out of a landfill.
